MAGURO HIBACHI STEAKHOUSE EXTENDS PARTNERSHIP AS OFFICIAL HOME OF THE CHAMPIONS DINNER
PINEHURST, N.C. — The Random Cup is proud to announce that Maguro Hibachi Steakhouse has extended its partnership with the Championship, once again serving as the official home of the Champions Dinner — the most exclusive evening on the Random Cup calendar, and one of the few traditions the Committee considers genuinely untouchable.
The Champions Dinner is open only to those who have won it. Attendance requires a jacket — earned, not purchased — and those fortunate enough to own more than one are expected to wear them accordingly. What happens inside is documented sparingly and remembered inaccurately.
By tradition, the evening begins the moment the champions arrive. "The Champ Is Here" plays throughout the restaurant as the jacketed field makes its way to the dining area, while Maguro staff manage the crowd of admirers who have, by that hour, made their way inside. The Committee has repeatedly declined to shorten the entrance.
Champions were effusive in their praise of the host.
"It's become a staple of this championship," one three-time winner said. "Something we look forward to every single year."
"They go out of their way to make this night special," added another. "The food, the show, the whole thing. You feel like somebody."
A third champion offered what the Press Office considers the evening's defining insight: "They know how to keep the players hydrated. I think sake replenishes your electrolytes. Maybe?!"
The claim has not been verified by the Random Cup Medical Department, which does not exist.
Maguro has hosted the dinner with what officials describe as "unwavering hospitality and remarkable patience," accommodating a party that arrives loud, dressed in matching outerwear, and preceded by its own theme music. The Committee thanks Maguro Hibachi Steakhouse for its continued partnership and for understanding, better than most, exactly what it has agreed to.
Great Champions. Great Food. The Champions Dinner returns. Jackets on.
