Carlos Bueso

Here’s Carlos holding some B-level trophy while dreaming of holding the Random Cup

WHAT THE SHARPS ARE SAYING….

(+900) Better known around the Cup as "Parlos," Carlos is living proof that boring golf can be beautiful. Every tournament, he quietly stacks pars while scouting nearby ponds for bass and wondering whether the fairway really needs to clear before his next cast.

His pre-Championship preparation has, as ever, drawn scrutiny. The Press Office recently confirmed only that Carlos has been "near water," that "a rod is involved," and that it was unable to independently verify the existence of a single fish. Carlos has described the outings as "focus work." Rival camps have described the boat as "a place to sit." Both, in their way, are correct.

The oddsmakers may still remember the infamous 2023 disqualification, but veterans know better than to overlook him — a man this calm is either hopelessly out of contention or quietly dangerous, and with Parlos it's genuinely impossible to tell which. If Carlos can keep his golf ball, and his fishing obsession, out of the water, these odds might just be the best value on the board.

THE OFFICIAL FILE
Carlos "Parlos" Beuso
Submitted to the Random Cup Press Office. Published exactly as received. Several departments recommended edits. None were approved.

OCCUPATION (AS DECLARED)
Valuation Artist
The Press Office has elected not to pursue this. Some valuations are best left unexamined.

KNOWN HABITAT
"Wearing pink hot pants at the gayest gay bar on the U Street Corridor."
Submitted voluntarily, without prompting, and with a level of specificity the Committee did not request and cannot unsee.

SELF-ASSESSMENT OF GAME
"Shit. Shit. Diarrhea. Incredibleness. Tapeworm."
Five words, as instructed. The Statistics Committee remains fascinated by the sudden, unexplained appearance of "Incredibleness," and is investigating whether it represents a round, a hole, or a single shot.

NON-CONFORMING BAG CONTENTS
Paper towels. "…in case someone needs to make an emergency exit in the woods. FAT BEN."
The Medical Committee declined to comment. Fat Ben has formally requested a rebuttal. The Press Office notes this is the first documented inter-competitor incident of Random Cup XIV, and almost certainly not the last.

THE RECORD, CORRECTED
Widely believed: that Carlos is Spanish or Latin American.
Stated for the record: "I'm really just another white dude."
Several longtime competitors admitted they had never actually asked. The nickname "Parlos" is now under review by no one, and will remain in use forever.

SUNDAY THREAT ASSESSMENT
Least wants to see one shot ahead: G2
Submitted with additional emphasis the Press Office has elected to preserve in spirit if not in punctuation. Noted, with interest: the third competitor to name Gino. The Rankings Department has stopped calling it a coincidence.

CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK PROTOCOL
"Be in first place on Day 1 or Day 2… then completely fall apart on the final day and finish second."
Current title: The Second Place King. The Statistics Committee regrets to report that the historical data supports this claim with uncomfortable precision, and has begun preparing the runner-up trophy as a matter of routine efficiency.

STATED LEGACY OBJECTIVE
"WINNING!"
Submitted in all capitals, with an exclamation point, and with considerably more confidence than the preceding answer would appear to justify. The Press Office admires the optimism. The Statistics Committee has said nothing, loudly.
