IT'S FINALLY HERE: Random Cup XIV Officially Begins Today

PINEHURST, N.C. — After months of predictions, player profiles, leaked Committee reports, a missing defending champion, AI handicap investigations, record support, and more bad golf takes than anyone thought possible, Random Cup XIV has officially arrived.

This morning, eleven competitors will stand on the first tee knowing exactly the same thing: every prediction made over the last six months is now worthless.

Today is where the story actually begins.

The field is locked. The handicaps are final. Phase One of the Support Window has closed, and for the first time this week there are no more hypotheticals. There are only golf shots.

One player will eventually leave Pinehurst wearing the champion's jacket. Ten others will spend the next twelve months explaining how close they came.

THE FAITHFUL HAVE SPOKEN — FOR NOW

Before a single official shot has been struck, supporters have already declared who they believe will lift the jacket.

🥇 Gino Hefner led all competitors with 70 shares, continuing to command the confidence of the Random Cup faithful.

🥈 Justin "JP" Patterson followed with 60, proving the 2024 champion remains one of the public's most trusted names.

🥉 A three-way tie behind them, as Atiba Bacote, Jeremy McDonald, and Oz McMahon each closed the opening window at 48, forming a crowded second tier.

Several competitors quietly drew support from backers hunting value rather than popularity — setting the stage for what could become dramatic movement on the board later in the week.
